Notice of Race (NoR)
1 RULES
1.1 The event is governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing.
2 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
2.1 The sailing instructions will be available after 10 am on June 1 at the GLYCSF website with limited additional hardcopies onsite.
2.2 The sailing instructions will consist of the instructions in RRS Appendix S, Standard Sailing Instructions, and supplementary sailing instructions that will be on the official notice board located at the Grand Lake Yacht Club (GLYC).
3 COMMUNICATION
3.1 The official notice board is located on the lake side porch of the GLYC.
3.2 All boats should consider carrying a VHF radio capable of communicating on USA channel 11.
3.3 On shore and on the water, the race committee will make courtesy broadcasts to competitors on VHF radio.
3.4 From the first warning signal until the end of the last race of the day, except in an emergency, a boat shall not make voice or data transmissions and shall not receive voice or data communication that is not available to all boats.
4 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
4.1 The event is open to all boats of the Laser and ILCA classes.
4.5 Eligible boats may enter by completing the entry form and submitting it, together with the required fee, to the GLYCSF website or the onsite registration personnel by June 28, 2025.
4.6 Boats may enter the event by registering online at
grandlakesailingfoundation.org
4.7 To be considered an entry in the event, a boat shall complete all registration requirements and pay all fees.
5 FEES
5.1 Entry fees are as follows: Early Registration for all classes is $75 and includes an event t-shirt with all meals. Standard registration includes all meals at $85 and does not include the event t-shirt.
9 REGISTRATION
9.1 Early registration concludes June 1 and Standard on-site registration concludes at 9:30 am on June 28.
9.2 Equipment inspection: Day and date June 27 at noon and June 28 8 am To 10 am 9.3 Dates of racing:

9.4 Number of races scheduled: 4 races on June 28, 3 races on June 29. 5 races maximum per day.
9.5 The scheduled time of the warning signal for the practice starts(s) and race(s) is 2 pm. The first race each day is 11 am.
9.6 On the last scheduled day of racing no warning signal will be made after 3 pm.
10 EQUIPMENT INSPECTION
10.1 Each off lake boat shall be available for State of Colorado aquatic nuisance species (ANS) inspection in the boat park.
13 COURSES
13.1 The course(s) to be sailed will be as follows: windward/leeward to the extent
possible.
13.2 The marks that may be used are as follows: orange inflatables.
14 PENALTY SYSTEM
14.1 The Scoring Penalty, RRS 44.3, applies.
15 SCORING
15.2 One race is required to be completed to constitute a series.
15.4 A boat’s series score shall be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score if more than 5 races are completed.
15.6 Rule A5.3 applies.
18 BERTHING
18.1 [DP] Boats shall be kept in their assigned places while in the boat park.
22 RISK STATEMENT
22.1 RRS 3 states: ‘The responsibility for a boat’s decision to participate in a race or to continue to race is hers alone.’ By participating in this event each competitor agrees and acknowledges that sailing is a potentially dangerous activity with inherent risks. These risks include strong winds and rough seas, sudden changes in weather, failure of equipment, boat handling errors, poor seamanship by other boats, loss of balance on an unstable platform and fatigue resulting in increased risk of injury. Inherent in the sport of sailing is the risk of permanent, catastrophic injury or death by drowning, trauma, hypothermia or other causes.
23 INSURANCE
23.1 Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with an appropriate minimum cover per incident or the equivalent.
24 PRIZES
24.1 Prizes will be given as follows: Overall, Youth (under 18 on June 28), Classic,
Female (self identified), Classic and Master
25 FURTHER INFORMATION
